Zhong Yang was the professor of School of Life Sciences in Fudan University, tutor of Ph.D. and cadre sent to support Tibet. He was unfortunately passed away by car accident in September, 2017. During his lifetime, he collected more than 40 million seeds of thousands of kinds of plants, establishing botanical gene base in China. As an educator, he has trained several Doctors of Botany in Tibet. The Propaganda Department of the Central Committee of the CPC posthumously honored him as “Model of the Times” in March 2018. CPC posthumously memorized Zhong Yang as “Nationwide Outstanding member of CPC” in June 2018.
